Russia held responsible for Chechen disappearance
July 27, 2006. The European Court of Human Rights today held Russia responsible for the illegal detention and summary execution of a young man in Chechnya. The case is the first that the European Court has decided regarding disappearances in Chechnya and it sets important precedents for other disappearance cases from Chechnya. Read more...

February 16, 2006. On March 24-26, 2006, the Stitching Russian Justice Initiative hosted the 2nd Training Workshop on European Court of Human Rights Litigation. The workshop was attended by lawyer and human rights defenders from the Republics of the Northern Caucasus who are involved in criminal law practice and interested in bringing cases before the ECtHR.
